Vehicular movement along the Aaryabhanjyang-Rampur section of the Siddhartha Highway remains completely obstructed since the last three days with the Maoists placing bombs on the road.
Reports from Palpa say the Maoists have also felled trees and placed logs at several places along the 50-kilometers long Aaryabhanjyang–Rampur section, making it impossible for vehicles to ply.
The traffic disruption has left hundreds of passengers stranded while hundreds others are known to have been walking the entire length of the highway section to reach their destination.
The Maoists haven’t yet said when they would end the blockade along the highway as travellers desperately wait for the government security forces to start removing the obstruction and open the road.
