Maoists loot goats

As Dashain, the great festival of Hindus has arrived, there is rise in the Maoist atrocities despite their call for unilateral ceasefire for three-months on Sep 3 with immediate effect.

In such an incident, Maoists looted 22 goats worth 115 thousand rupees from Thakleni of Pyuthan district.

According to Directorate of Public Relations (DPR) of the Royal Nepalese Army, hundreds of Maoists captured the bus and took the goats brought by a businessman of Pyuthan district.

A statement issued by the DPR on Saturday said that Maoists abducted students and teachers in schools of Tharpu, Bayaman, Hadkhep, Sadewa and Kalikhola area of Panchthar district and took them to an undisclosed location. The Maoists also adducted one teacher and 18 students from Janata Secondary School of Solukhumbu district.

Maoists looted all the properties and set ablaze a house of an army personnel at ward number 3 of the Khungri village development committee of Rolpa district, the statement added.
