Maoists kill two security personnel

Maoist terrorists shot dead a solider and a police constable Saturday at Sauraha Chowk in Chitwan and Rupandehi districts, security sources said.

Four other policemen, two in Udayapur and two in Rupandehi sustained bullet wounds following attacks by Maoist terrorists.

The terrorists who had come in bicycles shot dead soldier Khagendra Limbu of the Royal Nepal Army at 3:45 pm. Limbu was in his civil outfit and was patrolling in and around Sauraha Chowk in Chitwan district.

The army was able to identify Limbu only in the evening. Similarly, terrorists shot dead Sundar Singh Samanta, a police constable posted at Khaireni police post in Rupandehi district. When the terrorists opened fire on Samanta who was five hundred meters away from the police post, another policeman Uttam Thapa was also been injured.

Thapa has been airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment. Another police recruit Chandra Narayan Chaudhary was severely injured when the Maoist opened fire near the DN Gate in Gainghat. One other policeman was also injured during the firing. Both have been taken to Dharan hospital for treatment.
