Maoists kill three civilians, other details

Maoists killed three civilians, including two activists of the ruling Nepali Congress Party, at a village in Kailali overnight, local officials and police said. The rebels severed the heads of two after abducting them from their homes.

Insurgents bombed and completely destroyed the home of former member of parliament Tanka Prasad Rai at his home in Sankhuwasabha district Tuesday, his family said. Rai is a Deuba loyalist.

Rebels evicted Rai’s family members from the home before the bombing. Rebels attacked and destroyed nine more village development committees in remote parts of Kavre district causing extensive damage Tuesday night, local officials said.

Insurgents also torched and damaged the Bharatpur sub-metropolitan office in Chitwan at 3.30 PM Wednesday, metropolitan officials said.
