The Maoists on Saturday released nine more persons they had abducted during their attack in Dankuta district headquarters last Tuesday.
The hostages were released this afternoon from Rajarani area, Dhankuta, in the presence of media persons and human rights activists, reports said.
Those released were officials of the Regional Administration Office Phadindra Pokharel, Shovakar Regmi and Dasharath Rumdali, registrar of the Dhankuta-based Appellate Court, Pashupati Acharya, Khageshwar Bhattarai, an official of the Land Revenue Office, and four other civil servants namely Lokendra Kunwar, Tularam Pahari, Kharidar Dorna Rai and Govinda Mahat.
The rebels who had released two hostages on Thursday are yet to free four others – one civil servant and three security men.
