Coordinator of the Maoist talks team Krishna Bahadur Mahara reiterated the Maoist demand for dissolution of the House of Representatives and the present government saying the HoR and the government do not represent the forces which were actively involved in the people’s movement.

“We want to see the dissolution of both as they do not truly represent the forces which are still outside,” Mahara said at a press conference in the capital on Thursday.
Mahara, who is also the spokesman of CPN Maoist, further said that all party political conference is the need of the hour to pave the way for an interim government and a statute in the run up to the election of the constituent assembly.
He warned that the Maoists will unilaterally call the all-party political conference if the government fails to do so.
He also said they would accept the people’s verdict through election to a constituent assembly.
Mahara also refuted rumors that the Maoists will attend the Friday’s mass meeting in the capital with weapons. “The mass meeting would be peaceful,” the chief Maoist negotiator asserted, adding there will be no exhibition of Maoists army with weapons and combat dress on Friday.
Mahara, flanked by both other members of the Maoist talks members, said that his party is not collecting forceful donations, but added that the party is accepting voluntary donations and that the People’s government was imposing taxes.
A press statement distributed on the occasion sought action against those suppressing the people’s movement.
It also demanded release all political detainees, besides publicizing the whereabouts of all disappeared people.
Stopping army mobilization and restructuring of the state to ensure just participation of Madhesi, Dalits, women and all suppressed people were the other demands stipulated in the release.
