The CPN (Maoist) has divided the responsibilities of senior leaders of the party in tune with the changing political development of the country.

Saturday’s meeting of the central committee members of the party also decided to initiate efforts for immediately promulgating the interim constitution.
Stating that delay in promulgation of the interim constitution might affect the elections of the constituent assembly, the meeting decided to immediately hold talks with the ruling seven party alliance in this regard to hold the CA polls by mid-June this year.
The meeting also discussed about holding a top level meeting of the ruling seven party alliance and the Maoists to discuss whether to amend some articles of the interim constitution and 48 seats of the interim constitution, which are yet to be fixed.
Leaders participating in the meeting stressed the need of holding the CA polls in the stipulated time after promulgating the interim constitution against conspiracies being hatched by reactionary forces.
The party handed over the responsibility of Student Front and Health Worker’s Front to party chairman Prachanda, while senior leader of the party Mohan Baidya aka Kiran will look after the cultural front of the party.

Similarly Dr. Baburam Bhattrai will look after Worker’s and Intellectual Front, while spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara will look after Civil Servant’s front.
Senior party leader Dina Nath Sharma will look after Peasant, Dalit, Election Commission, Human Rights and UNICEF related works, while leader Dev Gurung will look after Women, Industry and Commerce, caste based and regional fronts, national and international non governmental organizations, UNDP and development projects.
Likewise, Maoist leader Ananta and Ram Karki will look after the sports and Bhutanese refugee issues respectively.
Meanwhile, Maoist leaders held discussion with officials of the Election Commission.
During the discussion, Maoist leader Sharma said that elections of the constituent assembly should be held by mid-June 2007, adding, “Political parties will extend all necessary help in this regard.”
Reports said that Chief Election Commissioner Bhoj Raj Pokhrel also said that the Election Commission is actively working to hold the election at the stipulated time.
