Maoists continue abductions

Maoists are continuing abductions of political opponents despite on-going talks with the government to end a communist insurgency that has claimed more than 1,800 lives in nearly six years.

Rebels overnight kidnapped two persons from a village near Chandragadi, police said. Insurgents have also abducted seven persons in Khotang, Parbat and Solokhumbu., police said.

Maoists blew up a police post at a village in Nawalparasi district overnight, police said.
