Maoists captured five people from Sankhu of Kathmandu, Thursday, allegedly involved in looting in the name of the rebels.
Those captured are Purna Lal Rajbahak, Santalal Rajbahak, Ganga Raj Rajbahak, Bishal Tamang and Sita Ram Bhandari of Khumaltar Kathmandu. Ganga Raj Rajbahak is reportedly a soldier.
They were made public at Maoist party office in Lalitpur on Friday.
They had tried to loot a passenger bus, which was also carrying a Maoist cultural group, at Sankhu area on Thursday evening, according to reports.
Maoists also alleged that they had beaten two rebels Aakash and Bikalpa, saying they were the members of fraternal organization of Maoists Tamang Liberation Front.
However, those arrested said that they had committed some mistake while under the influence of alcohol but refuted allegations that they were trying to loot the passengers.
The accused were handed over to the police on Friday.
