Maoists Saturday night attacked and damaged the Phaplu airport tower causing Rs.2 million in damage, Radio Nepal said quoting officials in Solokhumbu.
The rebels doused the building with petrol and set it alight damaging equipment and documents.
Minister for Tourism Minister Bal Bahadur K.C. Sunday inspected the damaged building and assured its early reconstruction.
The airport services the Mount Everest region which is a popular trekking destination. Rebels had attacked the tower before.
