Maoists overnight attacked Dandeldhura district headquarters damaging several government offices, local officials said. The rebel attack damaged the district ayurved office, Radio Nepal said Thursday.

Reports were sketchy. Dandeldhura is Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s home district. Insurgents have stepped their attacks nation-wide ahead of a nation-wide strike called next week.
