Maoists rebels have reportedly abducted over 100 teachers of government-run schools in serving at remote villages in the southern district of Nawalparasi.

According to reports, the teachers have been forcibly taken to unknown destination to impart them trainings on Maoist ideology.

Hundreds of teachers have fled their villages in mid-western districts after the rebels forced them to join their rank as W. T. (Whole Times). This had brought most of the schools in remote areas to a halt, report say.

The authorities are yet to comment on reports of ‘abduction’ of teachers in Nawalparasi.
