Maoist kill APF soldier, teacher

Maoists Thursday killed a head constable of Armed Police Force at Dumre Bazaar of Tanahun district. The soldier named Raju Giri was shot and killed by a group of five armed Maoists, reports said.

Following the incident, security has been beefed up along the Prithivi Highway and search operations continues in the nearby jungles.

Similarly, the Maoists killed a teacher in Solukhumbu on Thursday. Although the victim’s name is still to be known, reports said he was a teacher at the Toshkham Lower Secondary School at Solu, according to reports.

In a similar incident, the ultras shot and injured an army man named Medini Prasad Bhattrai in Aathrai area of Tehrathum on Wednesday evening. He was on his way home when the rebels attacked him.

Meanwhile, reports from Nuwakot revealed that security forces have gunned down four Maoists in separate encounters at Belkot and Arim area, Nuwakot on Wednesday evening.
