Make Putali Bazar a model town, says Mp

Syangja, Jan. 22:Member of parliament Hitkaji Gurung declared open the third Town Council meeting of Putali Bazar Municipality at the local Bal Mandir meeting hall  last Thursday.

Addressing the town council meeting, MP Gurung called upon all the parties concerned to be serious about the identification and solution of the local level problems.

He said the municipality should give priority to participatory development approach.

He also urged the Municipality to formulate a master plan for the development of the town into a model municipality.

Nepali Congress regional president Tulsi Giri, CPN-UML and CPN-ML district secretaries Prem Narayan Poudel and Chakra Bahadur Parajuli, RPP district vice-president Ram Bandhu Regmi, local RPP-Chand leader Jaya Narayan Shrestha, chief district officer Gita Prasad Khanal, Sashi Kumar Upadhyaya, Om Bahadur Khadka and others also addressed the town council meet.

At the programme presided over by senior town council member Ishwari K.C., mayor Umesh Chandra Thapa presented a budget of approximately Rs 12-2 million for fiscal year 1999/2000.
