Incessant rains have inundated major towns in east Nepal and damaged paddy crops and vegetables, reports from the area said Friday.
Five days of continuous rains have inundated Rajbiraj, Biratnagar, Janakpur and Ghaighat in Udaipur districts. The Jayanagar-Janakpur railway service was suspended Friday because of flooding, officials said.
Hundreds of thatched houses have been washed away and left many families homeless in the region. The rains hit the area as the monsoon season ends.
No casualties have been reported so far.
