MAHOTTARI, Jan. 13: The 128th Atirudrikotihom Mahayagya is to be solemnised at Matihanidham of Mahottari district from February 12 to 22.
A meeting held recently at Laxminarayan Maath Matihani, has adopted a budget of Rs 30 million for the Mahayagya, it is learnt from the Mahayagya main committee.
The meeting has taken various decisions including transparency in the donations and money received from various institutions and organisations to solemnise the Mahayagya, opening a bank account in Kathmandu to be operated by Mahayagya Committee chairman Kishori Mahato and former zonal ommissioner Narendra Kumar Mahato and constituting a 21-member district cooperation committee comprising also of the CDO and the SP.
The meeting also decided to nominate social activist Kishori Mahato the chairman of the Mahayagya solemnising main committee, Mahantha Jagannath Das Baishnav of the Laxminarayan Maath the convenor and Mahantha Ram Tapeshwar Das of Ramjanaki temple, Janakpur the co-convenor.
It also decided to constitute publicity subcommittee, volunteers subcommittee, physical infrastructure subcommittee, repair and management subcommittee and dais management subcommittee at the central level.
The advisors to the Mahayagya committee are, among others former Chief of the Army Staff Satchit Shumsher JB Rana, former ministers Khum Bahadur Khadka, Bijaya Kumar Gachehedar and Sharad Singh Bhandari. The meeting has also constituted various 20 subcommittees at the local level.
Scholars from India, Denmark, Australia, USA and Korea, all the four Jagatgurus, international president of World Hindu Council Ashok Singhal will attend the Mahayagya.Also attending the Mahayagya where religious discourses will also be held by learned men will be renowned sages and saints and scholars from Nepal and India.
