Maoist spokesperson and coordinator of the peace talks with the government, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, has warned the peace talks may be stalled if the government does not dissolve the parliament soon, reports said.
Mahara was addressing a press conference in the far west town of Dhangadhi on Tuesday. He said, “Parliament should not be allowed to continue any longer. A majority of those who revived democracy are not represented in the current House of Representatives (HoR). As such, it should be dissolved within a week.”
He asked the media persons not to raise doubts about the success of the peace talks. “The CPN-Maoists will not be a factor in the failure of peace talks this time,” he said.
He assured that even if the talks failed, his party would not return to jungle but would launch a peaceful agitation.
