KATHMANDU: Maoist spokesperson and politburo member Krishna Bahadur Mahara has serious injuries on his knee, according to a report published in Nepal Samacharpatra, a vernacular daily on Monday.
The report quoting local eyewitnesses who saw him in an injured state during a weeklong function of the Maoists in rural Achham said that he might have received bullets during air raids launched by the army at Jungathapachour, Achham on January 19. The Maoists at that time were organizing a mass meeting to announce a self-style Bheri-Karnali Regional Autonomous Government.
According to the report, locals of Kamalbazaar, Achham said that the rebel leader is unable to walk on his own because of a deep injury on his knees. They mentioned that he had arrived in Achham on horseback to attend a function in Achham. They also added that Mahara had undergone treatment at a sub-health post at Gauridanda, Accahm for few days.
