As protests from different sectors are ongoing to pressurize the government to fulfill their demands, the newly formed Loktantrik Madheshi Samaj has also warned to launch a struggle for their rights.

The Loktantrik Madheshi Samaj on Wednesday staged a demonstration in Janakpur and vowed to launch a unified struggle for Madhesi rights.

The demonstrators carried placards and banners with slogans demanding solution of citizenship issue, right to self-governance and self-decision among others and marched around the market.

They also expressed solidarity with those who are continuing sit-in protests in front of the district administration office, Dhanusha, demanding rights of the Madhesi.

Addressing the gathering held after protest rally, Dr Bijaya Kumar Singh, vice-chairman of the society, vowed to fight for the rights of citizenship, their identity and equal cultural status in the country.

He had proposed a 14-point solution for solving the Madhesi’s plight.

Chairman of the society, Ganga Prasad Saha, and member Brishesh Chandra Lal had stressed the need to come up with a common idea regarding its solution and continue joint movement until they attain success.
