At the meeting with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on Wednesday evening, the leaders of eight parties have tentatively agreed to form interim government within a week.
“The parliament will elect the prime minister and an interim cabinet will be formed. The interim government will be in place within a week,” said Narayan Man Bijukchhe, president of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) after he met with the Prime Minister.
Bijukchhe added that though his party will continue to stay away from cabinet posts, he will support the government based on its policies.
Likewise, deputy prime minister Amik Sherchan told reporters that the CA elections will be held before monsoon.
Top leaders including Maoist chairman Prachanda, UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, NC-Democratic president Sher Bahadur Deuba also met with the PM separately.
The PM initiated talks with eight party leaders as per his decision earlier.
