Lawmakers have criticised the Maoists for not abiding by the various agreements reached with the government and urged them to respect people’s aspiration.
Speaking at the special hour of the Wednesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, they also criticised the government for its failure to control such activities.
UML lawmaker Pradip Nepal criticised the Maoists for continuing their acts of collecting forceful donations, abduction and intimidation.
Taking the government to task for its failure to provide security to the people, Nepal urged the government to include Maoists in the government in order to stop such activities. He also asked the Maoists to act responsibly.
Nepali Congress (Democratic) lawmaker Hom Nath Dahal urged the government to immediately issue the Right to Information Act to guarantee people’s right to information.
Lawmaker Sher Dhan Rai said that both the government and the Maoists were not abiding by the pacts and urged them to be responsible for restoring sustainable peace in the country.
