Last rites of late Ghataraj Bhattarai performed

The last rites of the noted linguist and litterateur Ghataraj Bhattarai was performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat (Cremation centre) on Tuesday.

Bhattrai, who had been suffering from brain cancer for the past six months passed away at the age of 64 at his residence in the capital Monday night.

Minister of state for Forest and Land Conservation Gopal Rai, campus chiefs, students and literary persons paid last tributes to late Bhattrai.

His body was placed at the Pashupati Multiple Campus Chabbhil, before performing last rites. He had served as the campus chief of the Campus.

Sharma had contributed significantly in the education sector of the country.

He received various literary awards/honours for his contribution in the field of literature.

Sharma is survived by two sons, four daughters and a wife.

Many educational institutions of the valley remained closed to mourn demise of Bhattrai.
