Nawalparasi, June 27: Minister for Land Reform and Management Siddha Raj Ojha recently initiated a distribution of land ownership certificates held under the aegis of the Land Registration Problem Resolution Committee Nawalparasi.
On the occasion, Mr Ojha said that land ownership certificates are to be distributed to genuine farmers who have remained deprived of their rights for years, after their identification.
The nation could develop if all the people shoulder responsibility for the onerous task of national development, he said adding, the government is determined to initiate action against anyone found involved in corruption in the name of the committee.
Land ownership certificates have been distributed to some 329 farmers of Muriya, Narsahi, Pamalihawa and Gudhi Parasouni this time and the remaining certificates will be distributed by mid-August, secretary of the committee Laxmi Prasad Gyawali said.
Last year land ownership certificates were distributed to some 395 out of 1,705 landless farmers in Nawalparasi district.
Deepak Prakash Lohani chaired the function at which MPs Devendra Raj Kandel and Hridayesh Tripathi, ex-MPs Mahendra Dhwo j G.C. and Khem Narayan Phoujadar, Nawalparasi DDC president Iswari Prasad Shrama and director general of the Survey Department Baburam Acharya also expressed their views.
