Feeling pressure from manpower agencies, the Labour Ministry has postponed the implementation date for the “training-must” plan for each foreign job seeker before flying abroad, an announcement said Friday.
According to the Ministry, the plan has not been dropped, but will be launched after “more preparation”. “The government plan is good but was announced without any preparation,” said a foreign employment agent.
“For instance, the curriculum, duration and other aspects of the proposed training were not developed before the program was brought forward.”
The Ministry, while launching the mandatory plan, said training to foreign job seekers is a must in order to avoid growing complaints, which said the workers are not efficient and possess no job-related knowledge.
At present, foreign employment agencies themselves have been providing such trainings. But, they are involved in massive irregularities while distributing training certificates, according to experts.
“The Ministry, while launching the “training-must” plan, left it unsystematic. This allows irregularities to continue which will benefit the Ministry officials instead of the manpower agencies,” an expert said.
