Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala said Tuesday he is “not so optimistic” from His Majesty the King’s audience to him at Nagarjun Palace at 10 am today.
“I cannot say I am hopeful,” Koirala told reporters at the Congress party office after his 50-minute-long meeting with the King.
“There are evidence that the King has time and again turned away from his words,” Koirala said while fielding a query as to why he was not so hopeful.
“During the meeting, I urged His Majesty the King that the restoration of the dissolved House of Representatives is the only suitable option for an outlet,” he said.
Koirala further said, the five parties’ “anti-regressive” movement would continue despite the series of audiences to political leaders.
Meanwhile, sources said His Majesty the King has also granted audience to Communications Minister Kamal Thapa after meeting with Koirala.
President of Nepal Peasants and Labourers Party, Narayanman Bijukchhe and President of United Front Nepal, Amik Sherchan are also receiving royal audience respectively at 4:30 and 5:00 pm today (Tuesday), the sources said.
