Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala Tuesday said the 9-point roadmap presented by the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) would hardly help solve the problems dogging the country.

Talking to the media after a meeting with party workers at his residence at Maharajgunj, the NC chief expressed doubt over the motive behind the UML proposal. “So far our demands and agendas are clear, the UML roadmap is of no use,” said he.

Koirala however emerged upbeat about the unity of the five agitating parties, saying, “ Despite the differences vis-à-vis the UML roadmap, the five-party alliance will remain intact.”

Meanwhile, speaker Tara Nath Ranabhatt met Koirala Tuesday morning to inform him about the royal audience he received on Monday evening. Although Koirala had no comments on the meeting, Ranabhatt said he has disclosed everything that was discussed with the King.

“The King expressed concerns about the complicated security situation of the country,” Ranabhatt told reporters. He further disclosed that the King has given assurances that he would do the needy to sort out the existing turmoil.
