Kathmandu, June 21: Former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai exchanged views on serious national problems with the Nepali Congress members of parliament from the Far Western Development Region at his residence this morning.

On the occasion, ex- prime minister Bhattarai said that the discussion programme with the NC MPs was organised with an objective of finding out ways for the resolution of the grave problems especially the deteriorating law and order situation, enhancing the people’s faith in the multiparty system and to gear ahead the Nepali Congress party by uniting it.

Majority of the MPs present on the occasion demanded that the Nepali Congress should resolve the problem of law and order through unity, and the serious issue of law and order should be allowed to be presented in the central working committee meeting. They recommended that the NC parliamentary party meeting be convened soon in order to hold open discussions focussing on this grave issue of law and order alone.

The MPs expressed the view that if the solution can be found from the present leadership it should come in the open and if it is not possible it should be resolved through development of a leadership in order to enhance the people’s faith in the multiparty system.

They also expressed the view that it is encouraging to have such discussion among MPs.

Present at the programme were Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Tarini Datta Chataut, Minister of State for Education and Sports Dilendra Prasad Badu, Minister of State for Local Development Suresh Malla, and MPs Bhakta Bahadur Balayar, Govinda Bahadur Shaha, Tek Bahadur Chokhal, Janakraj Giri, Ram Bahadur Bista, Sushila Swanr, Ram Janam Chaudhari, Pushkar Nath Ojha, Narendra Bahadur Bam, Narayan Prakash Saud and Ramesh Lekhak.
