His Majesty King Gyanendra, who is on an unofficial visit to mid and far-western regions, visited Teghari of Kailali district on Tuesday.

Reports from Kailali said the King granted collective audience to newly appointed chairmen and vicee-chairmen of District Development Committees of Seti zone and the administrative heads based in the far-western region. Giving instructions to DDC representatives and administrative officials at the Zonal Administration Office in Teghari, the King said concerted efforts were needed to fulfill the wishes of the people in the present difficult situation.

His Majesty also directed them to expedite development works in coordination with the security agencies, reports added.

Home Minister Dan Bahadur Shahi, administrative and security heads of far-western region and the DDC representatives had welcomed the King when he arrived in Teghari. The King returned to Dipayal later in the afternoon. He is scheduled to visit Jumla and Surkhet districts on Wednesday.
