Speaking at a special press conference in Bhadrapur of Jhapa district Sunday morning, on his way to Kathmandu after completing his India tour, Prachanda also accused PM Girija Prasad Koirala of trying to create differences by advocating space for a ceremonial King.
Prachanda, who was accompanied by second-in-command of the Party, Dr Baburam Bhattarai and his wife Sita Poudel said that the King should be suspended till the elections of the constituent assembly.
Prachanda said that the 5-point understanding between the government and the Maoists helped to strengthen the intra-forces understanding.
He also said that Maoists will only join the interim government if there is conducive environment to guarantee people’s rights.
Despite many incidents of violation of code of conduct and agreements reached between the ruling seven party alliance and the Maoists, Prachanda claimed that his party was fully abiding by the understanding and truce code.
Prachanda, who is believed to have held talks with Communist leaders of India, Sita Ram Yechuri and others, while in India, expressed confidence that two senior leaders of the party, Mohan Baidya and CP Gajurel will be released soon.
Prachanda informed that he met the family members of Baidya in India.
Prachanda alleged that the ruling seven party alliance was not moving as per agreements signed between the ruling seven party alliance and the Maoists.
Talking to FNCCI delegates at his official residence August 7, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala said that King should be given a space in democracy to prevent him from being frustrated, which he said could lead to desperation.
