KATHMANDU: Gyanendra Monday granted a joint audience to members of an Israeli Knesset delegation visiting Nepal for the first time in 28 years.

The delegation is led by Nawaf Mazalha, deputy speaker of the Knesset; he is an Israeli Palestinian.
Other members of the delegation on a three-day visit to Nepal include: Amnon Rubinstein, Gideon Ezra and Tomy Lapid.

The delegation arrived in Nepal Sunday after a similar visit to India.
The delegation discussed bilateral and international issues with Speaker of the House of Representatives Taranath Ranabhatt and other Nepali government and opposition leaders.

“Israel supports Nepal in its fight against terrorism,” Mazalha told reporters earlier.
