His Majesty King Gyanendra has extended sincere felicitations to the President of Sri Lanka, Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, on the occasion of the independence commemoration day of Sri Lanka.

In a message sent to President Kumaratunga, King Gyanendra on behalf of his own and the Nepali people extended sincere felicitations and best wishes for the Sri Lankan President’s personal health and happiness as well as progress and prosperity of the Sri Lankan people.

His majesty also expressed that the cordial relations between the neighboring countries would further strengthen in the days ahead.
