Members of the Jwala Singh faction of the Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) took control of the home and land of Nepali Congress assistant general secretary Dr Ram Baran Yadav in Janakpur on Sunday.

Some one dozen JTMM members pasted a notice on the house of Dr Yadav on midnight stating that the properties have been seized. The rebels have also erected a flag on the compound. Before putting up the notice, the rebels fired several rounds in the air and detonated a bomb inside the house premises.

The rebels blame Yadav of not helping the Madhesi movement and disheartening the spirit of the Madhesi people for their rights.

Meanwhile, in a statement today, Nepali Congress condemned the attack on its leader’s house and demanded action against those involved in the incident.
