An emergency meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists Association Thursday demanded a judicial probe into alleged government excesses against journalists during the continuing emergency, the Federation said.

The Federation announced a series of protest programmes from July 11 to August 2 to press their demands. The protest will launch their agitation by submitting a memorandum to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on July 11.

The journalists said scribes have been killed, arrested, searched and tortured during the emergency announced November 26 last year to contain a communist insurgency.
