Joint Secretary of Nepali Congress, Govind Raj Joshi has been released on bail after a long judicial remand on Tuesday, court officials said.

Joshi was released after the deposit of 30.5 million rupees as demanded by the Special Court. The court last week had asked Joshi to deposit the sum but he could not do so in time.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case on graft charges against Joshi three months ago indicting him of accumulating some 40 million rupees through illegal channels during his ministerial tenure.
