Two Japanese, including a nurse, and three Nepali guides scaled the 8167 metres high Dhaulagiri Tuesday in the first success of the current autumn climbing in the Nepal Himalaya, the Ministry of Tourism said Saturday.

Miss. Sae Takahashi, 37, Masami Yazaki, 48, Da Gaylzen Sherpa, 37, Kumar Rai, 34, and Dawa Tshiri Sherpa, 35, climbed the peak through the normal north east ridge.

They launched their final assault from the third camp (height not known). The five-member Club Yeti Dhaulagiri Expdedition 2001 was is led by Kiyoshi Ishii, 53.
