The Industrial Security Group (ISG) has expressed deep concern about continued extortion of businesses and industries across Nepal.

A press statement issued Friday by the US Embassy, the Acting Chair of the ISG, said, “We call upon the Maoists to cease all extortion and violent intimidation, to denounce these activities, and to fully implement their public commitments to avoid such criminal behaviors.

The ISG comprises representatives of the Embassies of France, Germany, India, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and the Delegation of the European Commission, along with their bilateral Chambers of Commerce.

The statement was issued on behalf of the Embassy and bilateral Chamber of Commerce members of the ISG, and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
