The parliamentarian committee formed to find out facts about the murder of UML Member of Parliament (MP) Hem Narayan Yadav began its work from Monday.
The seven-member investigation committee, led by MP Anand Prasad Dhungana, held separate interactions with local leaders of the seven parties and members of civil society. Reports said the participants opined that Nepal Army (NA) and some leaders of UML itself were involved in the murder of Yadav. The investigation team has talked with the family members of Yadav and visited the site where the dead body of Yadav was recovered.
Yadav was elected to the House of Representatives from constituency no 4 of Siraha district during the parliamentary elections in 1998. He was mysteriously killed on February 2, 2004. Yadav’s wife Parodevi and son Navin have been claiming that the party responsible for his murder.
