International Trauma symposium from Friday

Nepal Medical College (NMC), Kathmandu is organizing the 3 day long International Trauma symposium from Friday with the aim of making local trauma surgeons in Nepal aware of the ‘Principles and Practice of Fracture Management’ through presentations, demonstrations and discussions.

A press release issued by the NMC said, “The program is sponsored by Socio-Economic Committee (SEC) of AO Foundation, Switzerland and this is being organized for the first time in any developing country.”

Apart from Nepal, some delegates and faculties from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are also participating in the symposium.

According to the NMC, the local problems will be discussed in length with emphasis on local adaptations.

“This training workshop for 3 days will provide unique opportunity to the Nepali Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeons to learn modern knowledge and skill to manage fractures in their own institutions,” the statement added.
