The federation of Janajati community has expressed their solidarity with the ongoing movement of Madhesi community.

The federation has asked the government to address the demands of the Madhesi people by making necessary amendments in the interim constitution. It has also asked the protesters to make their agitation peaceful.

“In fact, it is our demand also that the state should be federal and the elections of Constituent Assembly be held on the basis of proportional representation,” said Pasang Sherpa, president of the federation.

Sherpa has urged the protesters to carry forward their agitation as a movement for liberation of oppressed people and not as a regional or ethnic movement.
