Indian Foreign and Defence Minister Jaswant Singh is arriving on a three-day goodwill visit Friday, the Foreign Ministry said. King Gyanendra will grant Singh an audience; Singh will meet separately with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Singh will be the senior most Indian official to visit Nepal after the accession of King Gyanendra on June 4 and the installation of Deuba as government head. Former Prime Minister  Girija Prasad Koirala paid an official visit to India in July.

Singh is also visiting China in October to pave the way  for the visit to India of Chinese Prime Minister Zhu Rongji who visited Nepal earlier this year.
