Indian External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh arrived at Kathmandu Friday evening on a three-day visit to Nepal.
Talking to journalists at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Indian External Affairs Minister Singh said that it was a good will visit to Nepal. He said he would meet with Nepalese leaders and discuss Nepal-India relations.
“I will certainly discuss with Nepalese leaders matter relating to strengthening, widening and deepening Indo-Nepal relations”, Indian Minister Singh said. He said that he would also discuss issues relating to Nepal-India trade.
Asked about the construction of a dam near Marchabar of western Nepal, he said, “I have just learnt about this thing and I will discuss this issue as well”. Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Mahesh Acharya received the Indian External Affairs Minister.
During his stay, Indian Minister Singh is scheduled to meet His Majesty the King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Ministers and leaders.
