The Indian government has provided assistance worth NRs. 37,526,136 for two schools of western Nepal.

A press statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said the assistance consists of NRs.15,488,105 for school building and furniture of Shree Pragati Secondary School, Swathi and NRs.22,038,031 for school building at of Shree Adarsh Secondary School, Parasi, Nawalparasi.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Shri Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, inaugurated the school buildings amidst a function in Nawalparasi on Wednesday.

The assistance will greatly contribute to the education of more than 2,000 students of Nawalparasi district by providing improved infrastructure for learning.

Due to commitment and monitoring by both governments, the projects saw some savings, which made spending on additional work such as drainage and other facilities for long-term maintenance of the schools possible, the statement adds.
