India will provide Rs 29,976,846.00 under the India-Nepal Economic Cooperation programme for the Lalitpur Rajkulo Project, the Indian embassy said.
Indian Ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee laid the foundation stone for the Lalitpur Rajkulo Project today.
The Rajkulo canal, that is 1296 meters long running from Tikabhairav in Lele VDC to Lalitpur town, will be renovated and revitalized under the project.
The project will benefit six VDCs and provide irrigation throughout the year for about six hundred hectares of land. It will help revive the long-lost architecture and engineering skills that are the legacy of Nepal, the embassy said.
The environment and Heritage Conservation Nepal (EHCN) and the Lalitpur municipality are coordinating to have this project implemented within 18 months.
