The Indian government pledged assistance worth Rs. 22,500,000 for gravelling of Gandhi Manmohan Marg and construction of bridge over Maria Bakraha river.
Dr. Kheya Bhattacharya, Minister economic cooperation wing of Indian Embassy inaugurated the road on Wednesday.
A press statement issued by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said, the assistance will cover gravelling of 9 kilometers stretch of road from Gandhi Ashram to Rangeli and construction of the bridge over Maria Bakraha river.
Earlier in the year 2001-02, the Government of India had provided assistance of eight million rupees for gravelling of 6 kilometers stretch of road from Sukrabare to Gandhi Ashram and other road structures in Morang district, the statement added.
