India-donated vehicles arrive at EC

Amidst uncertainties surrounding the timetable for constituent assembly (CA) elections, the vechicles donated by the Indian government to the Election Commission (EC) for use during the CA polls have started arrive at the EC.

According to EC spokesperson Laxman Bhattarai, 28 out of 75 pick up vans donated by the Government of India have arrived and others are arriving shortly. He said rest of the vehicles would arrive in a few days time.

He said the vehicles would be sent to district election offices and regional offices for election purposes.

Meanwhile, Nepali Congress-Democratic filed its application at the EC on Wednesday for registration of the party for constituent assembly elections.

NC-D leaders Bimalendra Nidhi, Gopal Man Shrestha, Prakash Man Singh, Dr Narayan Khadka, Chitra Lekha Yadav, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat and others went to the EC office for party registration.
