Prakash Koirala, son of late BP Koirala and a Nepali Congress (NC)

party leader has vowed to initiate the unification process of NC and

NC (Democratic), Rajdhani daily reported on Tuesday.

In a conversation with the daily, Koirala is also reported to have

expressed desire to act as a mediator to pacify the conflict between

King and the five agitating parties through dialogue. “If they provide

me an opportunity, I am ready,” he said.

He was of the view that in democracy all problems should be solved

through dialogue. The five agitating parties are working against the

principles of democracy, he added.

He also accused the five parties of being the main cause of the

ongoing turmoil. “If the parties had not suggested the King to sack

the Sher Bahadur Deuba government under article 127 of the

constitution, the country would not be facing the current conflict,”

Koirala said, adding, “Deuba should have been removed through

elections, but the parties chose a short cut and they made the mistake.”

Hinting on the presence of cut throat competition among the political

leaders to be the Prime Minister, Koirala said, “Forgetting personal

gains, the parties should work for an all party government.”

He also said that to resolve the conflict there is no other choice but

an all party government.
