The session of the parliament scheduled to begin at 11 am on Wednesday has once again been adjourned without even commencing.

Speaker Subas Nemwang issued a notice informing of the adjournment. The notice states that next session of the House will meet on May 24.

The House session was adjourned in view of Madhesi MPs’ intention to obstruct its procedure yet again.

Despite their meeting with the Prime Minister in the morning, MPs of Madhes region were in no mood to allow the parliament to run on Wednesday.

“The parliament will not resume today,” Hridayesh Tripathy, general secretary of Nepal Sadbhavana Party (NSP-Anandidevi) had earlier told Nepalnews.

Following their meeting with the PM, Madhesi MPs had held discussion among themselves in Singhdurbar.

In the morning meeting with PM Koirala, the latter had assured that the government will consider their demands of revoking the recommendations made by Electoral Constituency Delineation Commission (ECDC), forming high level commission to investigate atrocities during Madhes agitation and so on.

Meanwhile, Speaker Subas Nemwang is leaving for New York on Wednesday to take part in a conference on inclusion. In his stay in the United States , Nemwang is also expected to meet with US senators. He will return home on May 23.
