Hotel Yak & Yeti, one of the six 5-star hotels in Kathmandu, located at Durbar Marg, resumed its operations from Tuesday, ending loggerheads between the management and the trade unions for the last eight months.

A series of talks held between the management and trade unions finally agreed in resuming operations last week. The initiation was taken by Hotel Association of Nepal.

The hotel had remained closed from December 24 last year following dispute between the management and employees over the issue of increasing salaries and other perks. The 270-room hotel employs about 400 people.

According to reports, 21 rooms have already been booked for Tuesday and 36 rooms for Wednesday.

140 rooms are ready to be used while the remaining rooms will be made ready soon. Most of the clubs and restaurants at the hotel will be opened within a week.
