The Home Ministry has directed all police offices and Chief District Officer to act strictly to check all disruptive activities of the Maoists and to maintain law and order in the country.

Newspaper reports quoted an official at the Home Ministry as saying that the ministry issued the order after Maoists violated ceasefire code of conduct in the name of different campaigns and tried to be engaged in disruptive activities.

“As their acts crossed the limitation, we were compelled to issue such directives,” the official added.

The Home Ministry issued the directive after Maoists taken into control Chief District Officer of Sarlahi Mukti Nath Adhikari on Thursday in the charge of taking bribe.

There have been rise in the Maoist excesses in recent days after they came into open politics with the initiation of the peace process.
