Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula has directed the security chiefs to re-establish all displaced police posts of the terai region within a week.

Speaking at the meeting of security officials of the far-western region, Minister Sitaula said all displaced police posts should be re-established by 9th January to hold the elections of the constituent assembly by mid-June 2007, as the government is formally starting the process for holding the elections of the constituent assembly by 15th January.
He also urged civil servants to return to the villages as the country was entering a new era following the elections of the constituent assembly. Sitaula said, “You should feel proud for holding such a big responsibility.”
Speaking at the same programme, Home Secretary Umesh Mainali said that the ministry will not make any transfers in the ministry till the elections of the constituent assembly. He also urged security officials not to take leave till the CA polls.
Chief District Officers and security chiefs of all nine districts of the far-western regions participated in the meeting.
On Wednesday, Maoist chairman Prachanda directed party cadres to allow re-establishment of displaced police posts and to return VDC secretaries to their respective villages for holding the CA polls on time.
